The production of these valve timing belts starts with a fabric / rubber mat which is sewn together in the first operation in order to obtain a roll which is then applied to the vulcanisation mold with a specific tooth profile.
In the course of the following operations, various layers of rubber material and the tensile strand are laid on and vulcanized together. The pulling strand (made of fiberglass) transfers the main load and gives the belt additional stability.
This drawstring is a continuous material which has not been joined together and therefore gives the belt the tear strength.
The seam visible on the inner side at a point is therefore not a stability-defining feature.
