Due to different measuring and production processes at the V-belt manufacturers, different length specifications arise across manufacturers.
However, these differences do not affect the functionality of the belts.

Different industrial standards mean that different parameters are used to determine the length specifications.
A distinction is made between external length (Le for short), internal length (Li for short) and pitch length.
The pitch length describes the length measurement at approx. 3/4 height of the belt according to DIN 2215.
Furthermore, the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer must also be included for reliable length measurement, as this is also an important factor in the production process.

Due to these different measuring methods, different V-belt dimensions from different manufacturers can occur on one and the same vehicle.

The Dayco Power Plus belts are characterised by an aramid fibre core which gives the belt optimum temperature resistance and therefore allows less elongation, especially when starting up, as well as twice the wear resistance of the polyester products (Standard line).

Especially on Piaggioscooters, special attention should be paid to the oil pump belt after a broken V-belt!
Due to flying parts of a broken V-belt in the engine housing, the oil pump belt may have been damaged or completely destroyed.
As it sits behind the Variomatic and is not immediately visible, it is always worth taking a look behind the Vario to check the condition of the oil pump belt and replace it if necessary. A damaged or destroyed oil pump belt leads to a piston seizure!
